PRODUCT INFO
"Maori" is a blend of carded wools from New Zealand. When DHG started creating this item back in 2007, they wanted a wool that was perfect for needle felting with a nice natural color, that would allow them to create bright colors as well as soft pastel nuances. These types of carded wool go through several phases of production. They range from carbonization to washing, dyeing and carding. However, it is not possible to completely eliminate the plant impurities, which should be considered as an intrinsic characteristic and not a qualitative defect of the product. Being of animal origin, the carded wools is biodegradable and therefore environmentally friendly.
Certifications
All lots are MULESING FREE. The dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is done at DHG which is GOTS (updated to the last version) and GRS certified.
TIPS
ATTENTION: These dye colors tend to have a high fastness against light and washing. That being said, tha dark and shiny colours, in the presence of alkaline or very aggressive soaps and prolonged processing / washing, can show a significant color loss. Thus, for any materials dyed with these types of colors we recommend that you carry out a processing and washing test using a small sample before you proceed working on your final project. The above mentioned testing is positively essential if these materials are to be combined with raw or light colored materials. It is also good practice to never dry the materials in direct sunlight, instead be sure to use low lighting.
