Parent/Guardian Observer Fee — MI Craft House ($20)
Workshops that include ages 15 and under require a parent or guardian to remain in the studio throughout the class, unless class description states otherwise. A Parent Observer ticket is required for any adult staying in the room and includes:
• reserved seating in our observer area
• coverage for insurance and supervision requirements
• access to studio amenities during the workshop
This ticket does not include crafting materials or participation. One Parent/Guardian Observer ticket is required per adult observer.
Youth Policy (Ages 15 and Under)
MI Craft House welcomes young makers and strives to provide a safe, creative, and enjoyable experience for all youth participants. To ensure a positive environment for both youth and adults in the studio, the following policies apply to all attendees ages 15 and under.

1. Age Eligibility
Youth ages 15 and under may attend designated workshops (workshops that do specifically not state Age 16+) when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who remains on-site for the entire class. Some workshops may have additional age requirements due to materials, tools, or skill level.
2. Parent/Guardian Requirement
A parent or guardian must remain on-site during any youth workshop for safety, supervision, and studio policy compliance.
-
Adults will wait in the designated observer area rather than at the crafting tables.
-
A Parent Observer Ticket ($20) is required for each adult staying in the studio.
-
Parent observers do not participate in the project or use studio materials unless they purchase an adult participant ticket.
3. Registration & Waivers
Each youth participant must be registered individually. Registration must include:
-
Emergency contact information
-
Any allergies or medical considerations

Signed liability waiver by a parent or legal guardian

4. Behavior & Participation Expectations
Youth participants must be able to:

If a participant becomes unsafe or disruptive, MI Craft House reserves the right to:
-
request additional parental supervision at the table, or
-
end the youth participant’s session early without refund, if needed for safety.
5. Safety & Studio Environment
To maintain a safe workshop environment:
-
No running, roughhousing, or misuse of tools
-
Closed-toe shoes recommended for certain classes
-
Food and drinks must stay in the designated areas
-
Instructor-to-youth ratios will be maintained for safety
Parents are responsible for assisting with restroom needs or other personal needs during class.
6. Drop-off & Pick-up

The parent/guardian must remain at MI Craft House for the entire duration of the workshop.
At pickup, youth may only be released to the parent/guardian who remained on-site.
7. Refunds & Cancellations
Standard MI Craft House cancellation policies apply. If a youth cannot safely or appropriately participate, no refunds will be issued.
