About the event
Experience the timeless art of Pysanky, the traditional method of writing intricate wax-resist designs on eggs. For generations, women and families would gather to create these symbolic works, sharing stories and passing down this cherished craft. Join us in this communal tradition without the hassle of setup at home! For $20 per session, you’ll have access to all the dyes, wax, candles, and tools needed to focus on your creations. Emptied chicken and goose eggs will be available for purchase, or you’re welcome to bring your own. Design sheets will be provided for inspiration, and our instructor will be on hand to guide and assist as needed. No experience is necessary, but instruction is limited—this is an open studio-style session. If you’re looking for a step-by-step lesson, consider attending one of our Pysanky workshops instead! Work at your own pace while connecting with others who appreciate this meaningful art form.
